Silent Retreats

Silent Retreats on the grounds of the Center for Spirituality in Ontario represent a way to quiet the body and the mind in a serene and spiritual environment, while availing oneself of a spiritual guide for short periods at specified times during the day's retreat. This can be a one-time experience or it may be repeated. Usually a Silent Retreat starts at 9:00 am and ends in the afternoon at an agreed upon time, but always by 5:00 pm. Our grounds include a cloister-garden, library, small chapel, and the main church sanctuary, all available to the retreatant. You will meet with your guide at 9:00 am and again at the end of the day; a brief midday check-in is available upon request. Your guide may simply show you the grounds or entertain a conversation with you, at your request. Most of the retreat is spent in silence: contemplating, reading, journaling, meditating, praying, or other spiritual practices or your choice. Fridge and microwave are available.

SPECIFIC SANITARY REQUIREMENTS MUST BE OBSERVED DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC.

A short phone conversation with the Center for Spirituality's director will be necessary for date confirmation. This initial conversation will be to discuss your motivation and intention for the retreat, as well as the support and/or feedback that you seek in the retreat experience.
